Past Projects
At our weekly writers' workshop, we see our members' work through every stage of development. When a piece strikes a particular chord with us, we band together as a group to bring it to life in its fullest form. Whether it's a play, a staged reading, a film, or something else entirely, we're committed to producing new work that tells compelling stories.
Therapy Won't Kill You
by Claire McKey Berkman
Short film screened at several film festivals, 2024
After a painful divorce from her wife, Sid goes on a girls' weekend with her three besties - who are horrified to discover she has never tried therapy. Through a series of absurd (and sometimes musical) flashbacks, the night unravels as each attempts to convince Sid that only by sharing her struggles will she finally be free of them. A queer comedic romp into the nightmarish challenges of finding the "right" therapist, THERAPY WON'T KILL YOU is a trippy and whimsical whirlwind, bending genre at every turn. Featured at the Big Apple Film Festival, Chain Film Festival, MIFF, Vermont Film Festival, and more.

Ava and Ty
by Megan Medley
SOOP Theatre Short Play Festival, November 2024
The Chain One-Act Festival, February 2025
AVA AND TY is a one-act rom-com play about a budding romance between an affluent non-binary person named Ty (he/they) and working-class Ava (she/her) – a cis woman who up until this point in her life has identified as "straight." Amidst their witty and flirtatious rapport, their rich and immediate chemistry is complicated by Ava’s preconceived idea of her own sexual orientation, as well as a stark class difference between the two. Within a week of meeting each other, the pair pulls each other in even as their connection sparks difficult questions of power, identity, and privilege for each.

Teresa – a former Catholic turned atheist – digs for the truth of her estranged father's last days by playing a game of cat and mouse with the priest who took her father's final confession. Father Daniel's unconventional approach to church ideology restores Teresa's strength just as her irreverence for church doctrine shakes his foundation. An improbable, seductive, and altogether forbidden romance blossoms as the two heal each other's wounds and challenge each other's conceptions of faith, love, and forgiveness.
Antistrophe
by Sarah Cuneo
Staged reading at The Tank, February 19, 2024
Antistrophe tells the story of Jane, who, in the wake of dropping the legal charges against her rapist, begins to have visions of the ancient prophet Cassandra. What follows is a magical, mythical blurring of reality and fantasy as Jane attempts to answer what justice should look like - and if closure is even possible in the wake of indelible trauma.
